You may wonder what sororities really are. We hear about them often, whether it is from a college, on TV, or reading an article in our local newspaper. Do they all follow the stereotypes, more or less shown from the media's point of view? Television shows such as Sorority Life (aired on the MTV channel) show two different sides of how a sorority acts. Is it all fun and games, like MTV views it as? Or, is there always anger and sadness among the group? Perhaps, and that is why I am here to inform you more about sororities.

A sorority is a society of women whose members are college or university students and graduates. Sororities have been around since the early 1700's. Sororities are also commonly known as Greek-Letter societies. Sororities originated from Greece and grew into the Untied States.
