Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis

Summary:   My essay is about Franz Kafka's book Metamorphosis. It is an AP essay that analyzes the book. The essay contains two themes, a paragraph that analyzes a critic's criticism, a paragraph on the author's style, and why this novel is a classic.


One rarely hears about a sudden transformation into a bug or monstrous vermin, yet this change lays down the foundation for the subject of the book The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. The Metamorphosis takes place in the Samsa house where Gregor wakes up one morning to discover he has morphed into a giant insect. Although Gregor knows something has happened to him, his only concern lies in his work because his family depends on the money. Gradually his family disowns him leaving him locked up in his room. At first Gregor's mother and sister show sympathy towards him and try to take care of his needs; however, their annoyance grows with Gregor's situation; furthermore, they feel a sense of relief when he dies. The Metamorphosis drastically demonstrates the effects of an unforeseen and unwanted change in.....
