Analysis of Act III, Scene II of "Julius Caesar"

Summary:   Essay provides an analysis of Act III, Scene II, of the play "Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare.


"Julius Caesar" written by William Shakespeare, details the death of one of the most famous generals of the ancient world, Julius Caesar. Caesar dies after members of the Senate decide that they have to stop Caesar's ambitious plans. In the play, Brutus, one of the conspirators against Caesar, explains the reasons of Caesar's death to the people. After his own speech, Brutus allows Mark Antony, a long time ally to Caesar, to speak. Antony proves that this decision was a mistake because he ends up rallying the crowd to turn against the conspirators. During his speech, Antony uses many techniques to move the crow in his favor. In Act III, scene ii, of the play "Julius Caesar" Antony incites the crowd to violence through the use of rhetorical questions and sarcasm, the use of a dramatic.....
