Summary:   Essay provides an in-depth analysis of the religion of Islam and how it has changed over time.


Islam stands as one of the major religions of the world today. Like Christianity and Buddhism, it is an international culture rooted from the ideas of the Arabs. The Muslim world changed greatly between 1000 and 1750, both socially and politically. Being adopted by the Abbasids, picked up by the Mongols, and passed on to the Ottomans, Safavids, and Mughals, Islam was shaped and modified to meet each civilization's needs. Through wars, expansion, and exchange, Islam was passed on and gained many followers.

The Abbasid dynasty was set up in 750 and fell in 1258. However, while they were around, the Abbasids had adopted many aspects of Iranian culture, distancing themselves from their origins. The Abbasids relied heavily on Persian techniques of statecraft and had a central authority ruling from the court of Baghdad. Governors were.....
