Bastille Day

Summary:   This essay is about the begining of Bastille Day.


On July 14, 1789, while King Louis the sixteenth and Marie Antoinette set on the throne of France, the citizens of France stormed the Bastille. The Bastille was the prison that kings and queens of France often used to lock up people that did not agree with their decisions. It was also a prison where weapons were stored. The citizens stormed the Bastille because it stood for every bad thing the monarchy ever did. It also stood for the kings never listening to what the citizens had to say. The poor were getting poorer and no one had enough to eat, Europe was going bankrupt and the citizens had no say in anything that was done.

Once the citizens attacked the Bastille they now had the weapons needed to rule France......
