Acquiring Energy

Summary: Essay examines how energy is acquired.
Being able to acquire materials and energy is a much-needed skill in order to survive. We would not be able to function in any way without a source of food and energy. Living things first use food as an energy source. First they acquire some sort of food and the nutrients from that is used to create energy. The energy in turn is then used to make motion, such as a human walking down the street, or a bird flying through the air.

Plants acquire energy through a process called photosynthesis. This is a process, which is utilized by plants to create food for them by using the energy from sunlight. Water and carbon dioxide enter the cells of the leaf and the products of photosynthesis which are sugar and oxygen, leave the leaf.
