According to the American Cancer society it has been estimated that about one-third of the millions of death from cancer are consequences of a poor diet (Smythies, 39, 1998). One of the current studies being conducted today is concentrated on whether or not antioxidants are capable of fighting and preventing this deadly disease named cancer. Epidemiologists studying the cause and prevention of diseases thrive on curiosity and have conducted well over 156 experimental studies testing the claim about the benefits of antioxidants (Smythies, 40, 1998). Although epidemiological research have been highly trusted for providing the world with concrete evidence concerning the benefits of antioxidants on cancer treatment, the overall experimental set up is subject to bias and the results are found to be inconclusive.
