Extreme means going beyond the norm with intensity. Shakespeare uses a love between two enemies to show how extremes do have an effect on everyone involved. In Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare demonstrated the connections between extreme emotions, extreme behaviors and extreme consequences.

Extreme emotions exposed through Romeo and Juliet, was through the infatuation of love. Romeo's love for Juliet is one that was made on an impulsive decision. Rosaline who he was madly in love with wouldn't lose her virginity, so her goes to the Capulet feast to compare Rosaline to other women. He finds Juliet and spontaneously falls for Juliet. ."..Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night." The balcony scene shows how their love is one of extreme emotions. From their extreme emotions comes foolish behavior.
