Summary: Essay presents a character study of Piggy from William Golding's "Lord of the Flies."
In the novel The Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a character by the name of Piggy. Due to a plane crash, Piggy, along with the other boys from his school back in England, are stranded on an island.

Piggy is a young boy about the age of twelve. He is short and wears glasses. The poor boy is diagnosed with asthma, a respiratory disease. As well as having asthma, Piggy also suffers from being overweight. Also, Piggy is a very intelligent boy who is a very logical. For a boy that is twelve years old, he acts very mature for his age. This could possibly mean that he is an only child, due to the fact that he speaks very maturely.

Back in England, Piggy lived with his Auntie. As Piggy grew up, he probably didn't have children his age that he could play...
