Main Entry: hero -1 a : a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability b : an illustrious warrior c : a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities d : one that shows great courage. In Greek literature Hero's stories were always being told or were needed to be known for the story to make sense. The heroes often had the same characteristics, had distinct traits that were all well shown in Odysseus.
