There are two main similarities between Romeo, from the book Romeo and Juliet, and Tony from the book The West Side Story. The main similarities are how they meet and the reason they died, and there is also a main difference in both stories, how the story ends. Though there are many obvious similarities and differences only a couple will be mentioned. One of the most obvious similarities is how Romeo and Tony meet their lovers.

The way Romeo meets Juliet and the way Tony meets Maria is by total coincidence at a party. When both Romeo and Tony meet their girlfriends they know that they are from their enemy's party. It is obvious that Tony knew the difficulties that would be involved with such a relationship. It is easy for Tony to notice that Maria is part of a Nationality that is discriminated against in his neighborhood...
