Summary: My essay is about the life and accomplishments of Ghandi.
There are few people in world history that have been able to successfully take on one of the world's greatest empires, and one of these men is Gandhi. This Academy Award winning film was made to show the world the story of Gandhi and his fight for racial equality through civil disobedience in his homeland of India. The filmmaker shows Gandhi how he really was, a kind, peaceful, passionate, and stubborn man who was ready and willing to die for the cause for which he challenged history in itself.

The viewer first sees Gandhi as a young lawyer traveling first class to South Africa. The train conductor was shocked to see the small Indian man sitting so comfortably in first class, which was not done in South Africa at the time, though Gandhi was able to change that.
