Stress is not easy to define. Physicists see stress as the pressure or force exerted on a body. Psychologists look at stress in terms of its demands on an organism and the organism's efforts to adapt, cope, or adjust to them. In other words, stress can be defined, as a disruption is a person's mental or physical state of well being or "balance." Stress comes from circumstances that threaten our coping behavior. This can be confused with challenges. Some people may view a situation as a challenge and may enjoy the challenge; others may view it as a threat and get stressed.
