Baseball, America's Pastime, remains unchanged since the first published rules in 1845. From that year baseball has evolved into one of the most popular sports in the United States and the world. From its creation on foreign shores to the big league ballparks of today, baseball has taken many steps along its path to popularity. From the beginning of baseball the game has changed in many different fashions. Over the years, Major League Baseball has slowly evolved into a game that favors the hitter.

Baseball originated in many different countries around the 1800s before it made its debut in America. These games were known by such names as "rounders" or "townball." Baseball became an official sport in 1845 when Alexander Cartwright published the first regulatory rules for the game. The publishing of these rules helped baseball become.....
