Love and Revenge in "Wuthering Heights"

Summary:   Wuthering Heights is a powerful novel written by Emily Bronte. It is a story about love and revenge.


Heathcliff is a gipsy waif. He is picked up by Mr.Earnshow and treated well by him. When the old man dies, the young master Hindley drives him from their company to the servants and makes him work hard on the farm. Heathcliff falls passionately in love with Hindly¡¯s sister, Catharine, and she also loves him deeply. But they are aparted by Hindly.When Heathcliff hears Catharine saying,¡°It would degrade me to marry Heathcliff now; so he shall never know how I love him¡±¢Ù,he is so disappointed and hurt that he leaves Wuthering Heights. Catharine is so sad and falls ill, later, she marrys Edgar Linton.

After leaving for three years, Heathcliff comes back with the appearance of a gentleman. He lives again in Wuthering Heights and seeks his revenge. He resumes his lovemaking to Catharine but marries Isabella.....
