In World War II capitalism was the way of society in West Germany and West Berlin. They both bathed in the benefits and success of this economic system. Socialism was implemented in East Germany and East Berlin at the same period of time. The outcome of the socialist theory was a disaster. It led the economy to become sluggish and deteriorated the society.
