Summary:   Essay provides a report on the country of Algeria.


My country report is on the country Algeria. Algeria is located in Northern Africa, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, between Morocco and Tunisia, or 28 00 N, 3 00 E. The area is mostly high plateau and desert; some mountains; narrow, discontinuous coastal plain. It has wet winters and hot, dry summers along to coast. On the high plateau there are hot summers and drier with cold winters. The ethnic groups are: Arab-Berber 99%, European less than 1%. The religions are: Sunni Muslim (state religion) 99%, Christian and Jewish 1%, and the languages are Arabic (official), French, and Berber dialects. Their government is a republic government. In its beginning it served as a transit for people moving toward Europe of the Middle East. The Romans followed by the Germanic Vandal tribes and the Byzantines ruled that area......
