Summary:   Essay consists of a book report on "Number the Stars."


The story I read was Number the Stars. The story takes place in Denmark. The people live in Copenhagen, Denmark. The time period is in 1923 and the Nazis have taken over Denmark. The Johansens are very poor and they do not have the best lives. Soldiers guard the city of Copenhagen and they walk the streets and are very rude and disrespectful to the people. The country is right next to Sweden who is still a free country. There Uncle Henrik lives on the oceanfront and is a fisherman who has a farmhouse and lives in the farmland. The cities are like most cities in Europe that is ran by the Nazis the people dont have tea or much butter. The people do not have a legal newspaper, and the people have limited electricity.
