Summary: Essay consists of an analysis of "The Giver" by Lois Lowry.
This book The Giver is about a community that is prefect and about a boy who is different than the others. As he gets older he turns twelve. He starts asking a lot of questions. He is chosen the giver. He goes through intense training and decides it is his time to go.

This story takes place in a community built thousands of years into the future . The community has forgotten about feelings. They have none. They don't see in color. They follow what someone tells them on a loudspeaker. There life is sort of what you can say predictable. You just know what is going to happen in your life next.

Some of the main events in this story are when Jonas gets chosen receiver of memories.

He said that he had some dreams about Fiona. She is another main character in the story.
