The French and Indian war was the last war in north America before the Revolutionary war in north america. The Iroquois Indians had begun to permit British settlement in the Ohio River Valley. The Iroquois had barred both French and British settlers from the region. The French were scared they might lose there fur trade decided to built a system of forts along the Allegheny river in Pennsylvania which was at the eastern end of the ohio river valley in 1753. Virginia's lieutenant Robert Dinwiddie, sent Lieutenant George Washington to tell the French to leave their new forts and go back to Canada. The French didn't leave. In 1754 Washington led some troops to french territory to force the French to withdraw. The French beat Washington at Fort Necessity. That was one of the first battels of the French and Indian war. In 1755 General Edward Braddock led British and colonial soldiers including George Washington, against Fort Duquesne Braddock didn't know alot of North Americawarfare .He also had few Indians to act as scouts. when Braddock's soilders got to the French and Indian force near Fort Duquesne, Braddock and his men were attacked and killed.George Washington took the survivors to safety. In 1756, William Pitt became the leader of the United Kingdom. He sent young officers to North America,he gave a new life to British . In 1758, British forces captured Louisbourg and Forts Frontenac and Duquesne.General James Wolfe started attacking French forces near Quebec. After three months of war fighting, Wolfe's army defeated the French on the Plains of Abraham, outside the city of quebec. The war ended in 1763 with people signing the Treaty of Paris. The treaty gave the United Kingdom all the French land in Canada and to the south, all of France's land east of the Mississippi River. The United Kingdom also received the territory of Florida from Spain, which had become France's ally in 1762.France keeped 2 tiny islands south of NewfoundlandSt.Pierre and Miquelon.I think wolfe's army won because they had double the size of army that french had and more better forts.
