Love and Relationships in Poetry

Summary:   Compares and contrasts how the poets present their ideas about love and relationships.


Love is a very strong feeling that everyone goes through at least once in his or her life. Poets would write poems about love. Film writers would make films about love. Authors would write books about love. There are many things in the world today associated with love because it is a universal emotion.

All the things that are related to love are usually positive comments about it-, as it would probably attract people to read, or watch them. It would be uncommon to read a book or poem on bitter, hatred love.

The two poems that I am going to discuss are called 'Valentine' by Carol Ann Duffy and 'Sonnet 18' by William Shakespeare. These two poems are.....
