Summary:   Essay provides a description of the book "Anne of Green Gables."


The book I chose for my report is Anne of Green Gables. The main characters are Anne, Marilla, and Matthew. Anne is an 11-year old orphan girl with red hair and freckles that Marilla and Matthew got from an assylum by accident. An assylum is an orphanage. They had wanted to get a boy to help Matthew on the farm but since they did not want to make the trip themselves, they sent for one. By mistake Anne was sent over instead. Anyway, Marilla is Anne's new guardian and she is a little strict. She goes to church and believes in God. She is also a clean-freak and her house is so spotless that it looks as if none.....
