Capital Punishment in "Romeo & Juliet"

Summary: Essay shows how capital punishment exists in William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet."
The Capital Punishment is not a new concept it has been around since the time of the first idea of the of a society government way before Jesus's time. The connection between Romeo and Juliet relates to the death penalty, because in the play, Romeo was being penalized for killing Tybalt in revenge for Mercutio's death. The Prince of Verona did not put Romeo to death because he acted out the law for revenge for his friends death, otherwise he would have been put to death.

The major controversy of the death penalty is: Should we still have the death penalty in use today to correct those who have disobeyed the law? Innocent people could be wrongly accused and wrongly put to death. The history of the death penalty in America was brought to us by the British. The ways of the punishment of death are changing now...
