Summary:   Essay provides a brief biography of Andrew Jackson as the seventeenth President of United States.


Andrew Jackson was the seventh President of the United States. What separated him from all of the other presidents? Thus far, all of the preceding presidents were wealthy and rich. Jackson was the son of a poor Scotch-Irish family. In nature, that was radical since Andrew Jackson destroyed the myth that only the rich and wealthy could become President.

He was born on March 15, 1767, but the location of his birth is unknown. Jackson was either born in North Carolina or South Carolina. At an early age, young Jackson was ill tempered and therefore was sent to Waxhaw Presbyterian Church for his education. During the Revolutionary War when Andrew was only 13-years-old, was captured along with his brother in a British raid. Andrew and his brother, Robert, were beaten up and forced to march to a.....
