Analysis of the Movie "Gattaca"

Summary: Essay consists of a discussion regarding the movie "Gattaca."

The movie Gattacca raises a lot of conflict, in the theme of this movie and amongst the characters. From this movie comes the belief that people who are born in faith, instead of a petri dish are unworthy of societal rights. Those born fully by their parents instead of science are given second rate job opportunities and are treated as common filth;however, as a person whose genes were hand picked by scientific engineers, this person now bears the burden of perfection. Though some do not realize it, there too is a hefty price to pay for perfection.

A society that runs on the same principles as Gattacca loses out on many things by discriminating against these in-valid people. For example, in the movie when Vincent's parents are talking to the genetic engineer about his brother, the engineer says to them, " You could conceive naturally 1,000 times and still...
