Girl Interrupted
After reading both of the books "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Girl, Interrupted", I find out one of the differences between them. It is that Susanna Kaysen juxtaposed her actual medical records and case notes with the narrative through out the book. These documents contribute a lot to the content of the book and provide readers with additional information about Susanna's mental state.
By putting the actual medical records and case notes side by side to the narrative, the author made her story more reliable. Perhaps some readers can not believe that a woman who has been in a mental institution can ever write a book. They may think that the writer just makes up her story to stimulate people to read it. However, with those real evidences, her story seems to have really happened. Therefore, Susanna Kaysen becomes more believable to the readers and they can...
