Silly Superstitions

Summary: Discusses the origins of superstitions and why we have them. Details some common superstitions.
Do you think it's bad luck to walk under a ladder or it's good luck to find a four-leaf clover? If so, you may be superstitious. Being superstitious isn't a bad thing, nut it isn't a good thing either. I'll tell you why i feel this way, along with examples of different superstitions.

Being superstitious could be a good thing because it makes your life more exciting and adventurous. Being superstitious could bring you luck especially when you're not feeling too lucky.

One time I found a penny and i picked it up and put it in my shoe because there's a superstition that says "find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck." The rest of the day felt like Lady Luck was with me because everything was just going my ways, but could i have just been having a good day? Who knows"

It could also make you have bad luck. This would be one of the reasons why being superstitious is a bad thing, If you're superstitious and you might of done something to bring you bad luck, then you might spend the rest of the day or even the rest of your life trying to hide from everything. There's a superstition that says if you break a mirror you'll have bad luck for seven years. If you're a true believer in superstitions this one could really mess up your life, at least seven years of it.

I use to not be superstitious, but one time i was driving and a black cat ran across the front of my car and when that happens you're suppose to lick your finger and make three X's on the windshield. I didn't do it because I wasn't a very superstitious person, The next thing I know, I get pulled over for speeding and received a ticket.

There are some superstitions that i believe to be real but there are some that i could care less about. The ones that seem too bizarre to believe are the ones i have trouble understanding where and how they came about.

Whether you're superstitious or not, you have the choice on how you're day goes and how the rest of your life goes. I mean seriously, you can't get bad luck for not throwing salt over your left shoulder if you spill some...or can you?
