The House of the Seven Gables is a book written in the Romanticism era. The novel focuses on change, love, emotion, and beauty. The book is a fictional novel based on mystery, mistaken identity through ignorance of the community, justice and love.

The main point of the book is Karma; the things you do to people, come back on you and maybe your family. The main message of the book is that some people aren't what they seem. The old woman down the street whose face is permanently scowled from nearsightedness isn't the horrible witch everyone thinks her to be.
