The Webster's Dictionary has changed. Marriage was once defined as "the state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law," but now there is an alternate definition that says "the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage." Society's ideas are changing and it is the roll of the government to evolve with society. However, the government is moving at a slower rate than the majority of the population. In an argument about gay marriage, there are many factors that have to be taken into account.

As the Gay Rights Movement progresses, homosexuals are demanding more and more. The recent issue is whether homosexuals are allowed to take part in the sacred ceremony of marriage. Marriage originated in many different forms...
