Marx, Kant, Hegel and t he Individual

Summary:   Compares the ideas and views of philosophers Kant, Marx, and Hegel. Considers how each philosopher viewed the individuals role in the society. Concludes that the realization of the actual world and the freedom of understanding, will always be at the forefront of humanity.


Kant, Marx, and Hegel each had lasting ideas and views that stuck out in history. Each German philosopher is lived on today in modern society. Some of their thoughts are wild and outlandish, but most of them very thought out and precise. Each thinker had his own philosophy on the how society should function and the individuals role in the society. The individual has a role in the bigger picture, but what that role is depends on the philosopher. Kant feels that the individual has a minor role in the big picture and that it should stay that way. Hegel sees that there are a few individuals who actually have the power to change a society. Marx wants to make individuals key in a society. All three differ on the topic, but all have in common.....
