Summary: Explores the history of colonial America. Describes the differences between the northern, middle, and southern colonies. Examines the lasting effect the Puritans had on the original 13 colonies and the future United States.
What do you think of when you hear the word America? Do you start to sing "American the Beautiful"" Do you think about all the men and women who fought for Country? Have you thought about how America came to be? During the 1600's colonies began to form. The three main levels were the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies. Since they were in different areas of North America they had their differences. They also were derived from England, so they share many similar characteristics in Slavery, Government, and Religion.
