Walt Disney was one of the greatest men to live. When he was growing up in the farmlands, he rose to great heights through hard work, creativity, ingenuity and resilience. Fueled by his extraordinary imagination, he revolutionized animation, transforming the animated cartoon into an entirely new and different art form by using the Multiplane Camera.

Walt Disney and his team of animators created a total of 42 well known movies. From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in December 21 of 1937 to Treasure Planet in November of 2002, but really he has been making movies ever since 1926 when he had his own cartoon show called Oswald the Rabbit. He has never ceased to impress his audience movie after movie after movie.

It cost $70,000 to make the Multiplane camera and was worth every penny. This camera has multiple layers hence the name multiplane. Each layer has cells, which are the parts of the whole picture, i.e. the character might be on the middle layer and the background layer might be of the last layer like in Snow White when she's walking through the woods. She's moving independently because Snow white is on her own layer and how she's walking in-between the trees and the background. But before the time of this special camera all of the cells were just placed on one another causing the whole picture to move at once. Causing the picture not to look realistic. The impact of this invention on the society is that Mickey Mouse and many other Disney characters are recognized and revered by millions around the world because the multiplane camera made it possible. The Impact on technology is that without this camera cartoon animation would not look as realistic as it would without it. This camera has impacted everything and everyone around it. I hope that this is just the beginning in the technology of cartoon animation.
