Summary:   A persuasive essay arguing against the use of capital punishment.


Capital punishment is a controversial topic in today's society. Many people are against it, and many people are for it. There are many different methods of capital punishment: lethal injection, electrocution, gas chamber, hangings, and firing squad. The most common method today is lethal injection. Capital punishment dates back to ancient times when governments punished people for crimes they had committed. The easiest way for them to deal with the situation was to kill the criminal. However, today's society has higher moral values than societies in the past and our government today handles crime in a much more acceptable fashion. The government is not always correct in the ways that they execute punishment on criminals. Capital punishment should be outlawed in our world today because it is extremely costly to keep a person on death row,.....
