Summary: Examines the life of American artist and pop culture icon, Andy Warhol. Describes his early life, education and training. Explores his body of work and rise to success in 1960s New York.
Julia and Ondrej Warhola were from Czechoslovakia, but moved to America and had three children; Paul, John, and Andy Warhola. Andy Warhola would soon become one of the greatest artists of his time.

Andy was born on August 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. There was some discussion if that is the right date, but that is the day Andy celebrated his Birthday. Most sources say this is the right date, including his two brothers.

Andy attended Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh and graduated in 1949. After Graduating he moved to New York where he would get his first break. In 1949 Glamour Magazine wanted him to illustrate a feature called "Success is a Job in New York." When it was printed it was signed, "Drawling by Andy Warhol." They left out the "A" at the end of his name, so Andy decided to just leave the "A" off from then on...
