Andy was born on August 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. There was some discussion if that is the right date, but that is the day Andy celebrated his Birthday. Most sources say this is the right date, including his two brothers.
Andy attended Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh and graduated in 1949. After Graduating he moved to New York where he would get his first break. In 1949 Glamour Magazine wanted him to illustrate a feature called "Success is a Job in New York." When it was printed it was signed, "Drawling by Andy Warhol."
