Acid Rain Solutions

Summary:   Describes the environmental problem of acid rain. Examines how harmful it is on a global level. Offers possible solutions.


Acid rain is a global issue. This process is harmful for all living things living over the earth's surface. It can kill all life on earth if we didn't do something about it. In Syria the people are producing a lot of SO2 and NOx gases which reacts with rain to make it acidic. The people must do their best to stop or reduce the production of these harmful gases. Syrian people can decrease or even end the production of these harmful susbtances.

In Syria we have a lot of cars and factories. Starting by the factories we can reduce the So2 emmisions by using the catalytic converters. This equipment chemically remove the SO2 from the gases leaving the smokestack. Similar to scrubbers on power plants, catalytic converters reduce NOx emissions from cars.
