Summary: Analyzes the novel, Beloved, by Toni Morrison. Provides a detailed plot synopsis.
The book is set in Cincinnati, Ohio; 1873 the two main characters Sethe and Denver live in Baby Suggs old house "Sweet Home" they refer to it as 124 most of the time, this is very important because most black people could never own such a house as Sethe does. So many of the people of the black community don't like Sethe and never visit her house or talk to her, but the main reason is that 124 is haunted by the ghost of Sethe's dead baby girl named Beloved. Sethe tells us that she named her Beloved because she got confused and thought the minister was addressing the baby when he said dearly beloved we are gathered here.
