A Dream Is a Raisin
A raisin in the sun is not a pretty sight to see. It is small and shriveled up. There also may be some juices leaking from it which don't produce a very kind odor. So why then title a play after such a pathetic mess? Every person has had a day where they feel like a raisin in the sun. In the play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, an entire family feels that way.
In the play each character has a dream of their own. Mama lives in a small apartment with her daughter Beneatha and son Walter. Walter's wife Ruth and son Travis also live in the "rat trap."Mama and Ruth both want a big house for their family to live in.
