The Perfect Body - Do You Shape Up?

Summary: Explores how in the consumerism society we live in today there is a negative body image theory being pushed around. Attempts to debunk that theory.
What is the perfect body? The magazines seem to know. Sadly these days in the consumerism society that we know as the 21st century, there is an increased social pressure to be thin frankly if you're not a size 8 with a large bust and shimmering tan, we don't want to know you.

The industries have us constantly striving for perfection. But what is perfection? There is really no such thing...unless you live in magazine world of corse. Perfection is just a distorted image the magazines etch in our minds by electronically editing and airbrushing the already overly thin models. They exploit these models in their advertisements to sell their product. This image we see is far from realistic yet many of us still continue to peruse that "perfect look."

And it's really no wonder teenage girls are feeling the pressure to be thin. Chain clothing stored aimed...
