There are many religions with unique ceremonies and beliefs based on death. There are religions that criminate the body and perform ceremonies before the person died. Religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism have unique funeral customs.

In Hinduism, normally the Hindu would die at home. In today's time though, the dying person stays at the hospital. The Hindus family knowing it's better to die at home with your loved one around you brings the dying person home. When the person is about to die, the family members are told. The person is put in their room with the head facing east. A lamp is put near his/her head and they urge him/her to concentrate on their mantra. The family members stay with him/her until they die.
