Lady Macbeth, An Analysis

Summary:  

Evaluates Bill Alexander's BBC production of Macbeth. Describes how it depicts Lady Macbeth as a, `fiend like queen.' Also evaluates other depictions of Lady Macbeth.

The main version of the play which I have looked at is part of BBC Shorts and stars Louise Lombard as Lady Macbeth, the scene looked at is Act 1 Scene 7. It is set fifty years from now after a global war or natural disaster, the world is in turmoil. Macbeth is a warlord in a world of decay in which anarchy rules; killing is common and more acceptable than today, people do not face the same moral dilemmas as today; this is a contrast with Scotland when Duncan was king in the play. Lady Macbeth is wealthy and respected. I have also looked at some other versions of the play so I can compare and contrast the different ways Lady Macbeth is played.
