Summary:
Explores the history of the American Labor movement. Compares the status of American workers past and present.
In this piece of writing, I would explain why the present is just the result of a series of movement do it in the past. Since the Gilded Age let to the Depression, and this one let us to the Decade that roared, and as you can visualize the present is the combination.
During the Gilded Age, many American do not wanted to evolved or there was an ignorance of why people has to develop since a person earned a deprived salary even that they work until their bodies could stand no more . Also you may no that they was not a social and medical compensation as now.
As the title said "Every action has a reaction" given that all thing have to change, people understand the meaning to try your best in everything and get better every day went the GREAT UPHEAL which involve many benefit, and do not fail but it demanded higher wages and more time to spend with their family for the workers. Here it went we can say that a little strike can make up a great revolution (I believe that these words are of Thomas Jefferson).
Until 19th century strikes can not be counted as successful but it was the technique employed by worker, to define what were they demanding. Since in history, most of the goal of it is to have better working condition and higher wages as in the reality of now in Dominican Republic with the electrical problem which affect every Dominican in different ways. But other definition of strike is that each strike has an objective and for get this purpose, the striking people frequently act in response with fists, rarely even leading to loss their life.
"That strategy of owner over labor dawn in the 20th century'"
Since worker do not all have the same ideas (for example socialist based in the ideas of Karl Marx and radicalism) and target. And for it union of group was the new way to spread this movement. The first group to pass obstacle or complication was National Labor Union by William Sylvis, which goal was to fight for higher wages and less hours and it supported reform laws. Not obstinately at this time there was Martin Luther king for fight for racist so at this time racist tendencies prevailed at this time, so went National Labor union supported this group, as result this union was wasted away.
So time change and wind too, so suddenly it's form a secret group which is not known by society that accepts women and African American, it named was the Knight of Labor. And with all this community the objectives became more as immigration, as well as the most important for me restriction on child labor and other intention was an eight-hour day for all laborers. Also a result of thus union is the International Workers Day, since the tragedy on May 1 in 1886 on the Haymarket Square.
Finally all this unions, movements, and action by striking work had a result that is the formation of the American Federation of Labor. This supported the strike or a boycott, this American Federation of Labor served as the preeminent national labor organization until the Great Depression when unskilled workers finally came together.
