Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston on January 19th 1809. He is mostly known for his poetry/verses and short stories and literary analysis. His thrillers have influenced numerous authors globally. His writings reflect his own life of fear, loneliness and death. He also wrote the first detective story and an approximate total of 70 poems. In this biography, I will be covering: The Early Years, Growing Up, Becoming a Professional Writer, Influences on Today's Horror Genre, Accomplishments, His Personal Life and His Final Days.

The Early Years and Growing Up

Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19th 1809.

His parents David Poe Jr. and Elizabeth Arnold were touring actors. David Poe abandoned the family when Edgar was one. Elizabeth died before Edgar turned three. She died of tuberculosis. A tobacco.....
