Electromagnet

Aim: The aim of this experiment is to find out how the strength of an electromagnet is affected by the number of turns, voltage supplied or current given. I am going to keep the number of coils the same and vary the current and see how it affects the number of nails that it can pick up.

Prediction: In this investigation I believe that the strength of the electromagnet will depend on the current that is supplied, by the number of coils or voltage supplied. These are the three main factors that affect the strength of an electromagnet. In this experiment I have decided to change the amount of coils as I believe that as the number of turns increase so does the strength of the electromagnet and I believe that this will make the electromagnet pick up more nails.
