Slovakia is a land locked country in the heart of Europe. It is located in the northeastern hemisphere, on the continent of Europe. Slovakia is located at 48 degrees north latitude and 19 degrees east longitude. The capital city of this land locked country is Bratislava, which is one of the largest cities in the entire country. The countries that are between the United States and Slovakia are the Czech Republic, Germany and France.

Slovakia has warm, humid summers, and cold, dry winters. The coldest temperatures reach 27-30°F. The hottest temperatures reach 66-70°F. The average rainfall varies from 19.6-27.5 inches. Slovakia's major rivers include Danube, Vah,Nitra,and Hron. The mountain ranges of Slovakia include : Tatra Mountains, the Slovak Ore Mountains and the Eastern Carapathian Mountains.
