Wuthering Heights: The Relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine

Summary:   Analyzes the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Focuses on the relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff. Discusses the extreme emotions inherent in their relationship.


Most novels are written as love stories, adventure, or tragedy. However, Wuthering Heights is a combination of all. This book relates to humans problem such as love and hate, revenge and jealousy this book focuses on characters that intentionally harm others and create damaging situation for their own benefit. It is set on a mysterious and gloomy Yorkshire moors in the nineteenth century. Narrated by, Mr. Lockwood.

When all is said and done, Heathcliff and Catherine are the story. Their love started as a youth and Catherine loves Heathcliff but she could never lower her self to his stander. The Hindley has mistreated Heathcliff when he got what he wanted. From the beginning, he showed his strength through Hindely, but he also follows his personal goal of a life with Cathy Earnshaw. Heathcliff vanishes for three years.....
