Summary: Provides a short summary of the life of the composer Beethoven. Examines his early life, influences, training and works.
BEETHOVEN'S COMPOSITIONS

Throughout his life, Beethoven completed numerous works. Each piece has its own style and design, and included variation and modulation. Beethoven was also a fan of counterpoint which is two melodies played on top of one another.

Although Beethoven's works varied from symphonies to sonata's, his specialities (and basically favourites) were piano concertos, symphonies, string quartets & piano sonatas.

THE CLASSICAL PERIOD

About the time of the American Revolution, Europe was developing economically. In the arts, artists, architects and composers were using the simple lines and elegance of the ancient Greeks and Romans.

During this time, some composers were supported by kings and noble persons who paid them to write music for festivities and private parties at their palaces.
