A Wrinkle in Time: Comparing Earth with Camazotz

Summary:   Reviews the novel, A Wrinkle in Time. Compares the fictional planet Camazotz with Earth. Focuses on how each planet defines equality.


The meaning of equality is differently defined within both planets in this novel A Wrinkle in Time. On the planet Camazotz, individuality is not welcome nor kept, everything is seemingly programmed and run be schedule, illness and deformities have been conquered on Camazotz, However, on earth, everybody is an individual, people do their own things at their own time, and at their own pace, all illness and deformities have not been conquered, though many have, a large majority still have not.

One of the major differences in the definition of equality in Camazotz than that of earth is that on Camazotz individuality is not welcome. None of Camazotz’ occupants are their own person, in ways it seems as though they are robots, all programmed a certain way. All Camazotz’ life is controlled by one mind; “IT”. Charles.....
