"Peeling the onion by Wendy Orr is a dramatic story about a girl called Anna who finds new emotions and a change in her personality after being in a serious car accident and breaking her neck.

For Anna to make a full recovery she must try and face her true feelings/emotions. The accident has changed her personality, she loses the ability to be who she thought she was she is no longer the open, happy, outgoing athletic girl she was. In her struggle to beat her injuries she discovers who she really is.

During the book Anna try's to convince herself that she wants to get better, fast. She try's to persist and get better as soon as she can by using her willpower but when it comes to other things she just gives up. This is clearly evident when Anna is reading a book "what's happened...
