England was endlessly creating new laws that increased their control of the thirteen colonies. The colonies started resisting the laws, especially the ones involving taxes. The people of the thirteen colonies started wanting their own government, and their own way of living. This was the start of the United States, the name the colonies gave themselves to further prove the independence they gained from England after the Revolutionary war.
